The Decorating Man was established by John Postai in August 1994, the first wedding and events decorating business in Canberra.

The Decorating Man history dates back to 1984, when John attempted to find a local decorator to decorate his own wedding. Not able to find anyone, John then embarked on creating his own wedding decorations and, as a result of overwhelming positive feedback, he created the business that has made him the success he is today.

John’s background started as a Visual Merchandiser with Grace Brothers and Myers, and furthered his career in fashion retail stores and the travel industry. John is also a visual merchandiser for a number of national display companies.

He now decorates over 250 events a year.

With over 37 years experience in event design and décor John has decorated most venues in Canberra and the surrounding region.
